Dr. David With JennyDr. David Cohen

David graduated as a DVM from University of Guelph (near Toronto Canada) in 1982, and worked in mixed-animal practices in BC’s Rocky Mountains, and near Vancouver. He had his own successful small-animal clinic outside Vancouver from 1987-1995.

He moved to Israel in 1995 and has chosen, against all odds, to stay. Sixteen years later he is still here, owning and managing Vets 4 Pets; the original clinic he founded in Herzliya Pituach in 1997, and a newer small clinic in Jaffa that he started in 2007. He is the main clinician and surgeon for soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, and works closely with Dr Barbara and Dr Tom and Dr Hani on internal medicine cases in both clinics.

David is a member of many veterinary organizations, and has volunteered his time on the veterinary council in Israel. He and the other staff attend continuing education conferences in Israel and abroad. David brings to the clinics his 29 years of companion-animal veterinary experience in medicine and surgery. He also attends seminars in veterinary acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine for animals, blending western vet medicine with alternative modalities to treat the patient holistically.

Whether he is in Jaffa or Herzliya, or off-work on a hike, you will see David traveling in his Vets 4 Pets van, with his 4-legged ‘shadow’, Jenny the energetic Beagle, walking the beaches and parks of Israel.

Dr. Barbara Feinmesser

Dr. Barbara our very own “Dr.Dolittle” grew up in Israel and Ecuador. After completing her military service, she went on to study at The University of Veterinary Medicine in Kosice (Slovakia), and graduated in 2000. Barbara then worked in the high-tech industry for a short stint, and then answered her true caling as a veterinarian.

Barbara’s bubbly personality and big smile is contagious, especially to her patients, all of which receive the same special and unique care as her own pets do.

Barbara lives in Herzylia with her wonderful husband Dror, her Dogue De Bordeaux Pata and a multitude of cats that adopt her family.

Dr. Tom Morrison

Dr. Tom, like so many other veterinarians, knew his career choice from a young age. When he was just 12 years old, his dog underwent emergency surgery – thus his “journey” began. After that stressful night Tom began volunteering at the very same clinic that saved his dog and spent several summers helping out with and observing surgical procedures.

Completing his military service, Tom went on to receive his B.A. in Biology from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem. During his time in Jerusalem he worked as a vet-assistant, and upon graduating, he moved back to Tel Aviv and worked as an assistant at a clinic in Ramat Gan.

After a year or so in Ramat Gan he continued his “journey” to Hungary, where he graduated from the Szent István University in 2009. Tom joined our team in December 2010. He spends most of his time at the Jaffa clinic and occasionally visits the Herzliya clinic.
